On February 16, 2023, International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10 shut down the Ports of San Francisco and Oakland to demand freedom for Mumia Abu-Jamal. Local 10, with supporters of Mumia, marched down the Embarcadero in San Francisco to Harry Bridges Plaza and rallied for Mumia.
